The aftercare of your tattoo will greatly determine the way your tattoo will look once it has fully healed.
Wear your bandage for around 1 hour, then remove it and wash the tattoo gently with Dial antibacterial soap.
Gently pat dry with paper towel. Do not rub back and forth.
Apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor to your tattoo a few minutes after washing. Pat off excess Aquaphor if necessary.
Your new tattoo will need to be washed 2-3 times daily as directed above as well as re-apply Aquaphor as needed.
DO NOT PICK SCABS!!!! This will cause your tattoo to bleed and will pull ink out of your skin.
Avoid body wash, lotions and shampoos that have fragrances.
Do not swim or go into hot tub for at least 2 weeks
Avoid direct exposure to the sun.
After the tattoo has fully healed you need to wear sunscreen over the tattoo when you plan to spend long periods in direct sunlight. Do not apply any sunscreen directly over tattoo if it has not fully healed.
Wear loose clothing over the tattoo while it heals to avoid any rubbing that may pull off scabs.
